It covers an area of 19124.5 square kilometers and borders Pu’er City in the northeast and northwest. It is connected to Laos in the southeast and Myanmar in the southwest. The national border is 966.3 kilometers long. It connects six countries with one river and has 4 national ports. Xishuangbanna is located on the northern edge of the tropics and has a tropical monsoon climate. Xishuangbanna governs 1 county-level city and 2 counties. In 2021, the ethnic minority population in Xishuangbanna was 790,300. The Dai people are the dominant ethnic group, and there are 13 ethnic groups living there. According to the seventh census data, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture was 1,301,407.

Travel information:
